2020 is also a year of transformation and upgrading for the construction and ceramics industry. The China Building and Sanitary Ceramics Association and "Ceramic Information" jointly launched the "Ceramic Industry Long March" activity, visiting various building ceramics production areas across the country, and collecting statistics on the most comprehensive production capacity data in the country. The investigation found that ceramic enterprises in various production areas have stopped production and exited seriously.
But looking back on the past five years, the demand for ceramic tiles in the Chinese market has not only not grown, but has also declined. Affected by the development of the real estate industry, the domestic ceramic tile market demand is unlikely to increase in the next ten years.
In terms of exports, China's export volume of building ceramic tiles fell by about one-third, and the average export unit price dropped by 19%. The output of sanitary ceramics increased by about 5%; the export volume increased by about 20%, and the average export unit price increased by 47.23%. The per capita labor productivity of sanitary ceramics enterprises has increased by more than 30%. According to Miao Bin's prediction, in the next five years, China's construction ceramics (rock slab) production will reach 10 billion square meters; of which, the domestic market demand is 9 billion square meters; the international market is about 1 billion square meters. The output of sanitary ceramics is 260 million pieces; of which, the domestic market demand is about 160 million pieces, and the export is about 100 million pieces. The output of faucets (faucets) is about 1.6 billion sets. The production volume of smart toilets is 2,000 sets.
Therefore, the foundation for the survival of ceramic companies lies in technological innovation and service upgrading. If ceramic companies continue to lack innovation and technology, they will be marginalized by the market and the times; Miao Bin proposed that for a sustainable ceramic company, its R&D funds should be Accounting for more than 5% of all company expenses. At the same time, more development research should continue to be done in aspects such as "intelligent manufacturing, environmentally friendly production, and green building materials."
Xu Xiwu gave an in-depth explanation of the upgrading and transformation of the ceramics industry, environmental protection and green production. The national construction and sanitary ceramics industry actually invests a lot in environmental protection. The total investment in atmospheric environmental protection equipment that needs to be built or renovated in the industry is at least 20 billion yuan, and the annual operating cost exceeds 12 billion yuan, including a series of equipment such as bag dust collectors, wet desulfurization, humidification, electric dust removal and decontamination, plus spray drying towers. Take kiln equipment as an example. Nowadays, the kiln equipment of most enterprises in the building ceramics industry has developed from the original "high pollution, high energy consumption, low efficiency" to "low pollution, energy saving, automation, large-scale "Energy-friendly, high-efficiency" green kiln.
In terms of fuel use, Xu Xiwu is worried about the stability of natural gas supply. Public information shows that domestic natural gas production in 2018 was approximately 160.3 billion cubic meters, of which shale gas was approximately 10.9 billion cubic meters, coal-bed methane was 4.9 billion cubic meters, and coal-to-gas was 3 billion cubic meters. Customs data shows that China’s total natural gas imports in 2018 were 90.39 million tons, of which pipeline gas imports were 36.61 million tons and LNG imports were 53.78 million tons.
The ceramic industry consumes 60 million tons of coal every year. If converted into natural gas according to the coefficient of 1.33kgce/m³, the ceramic industry will consume 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas every year, accounting for 16% of the country’s apparent natural gas consumption and accounting for 16% of the national industrial natural gas consumption. 42% of fuel consumption. It can be seen that there is a huge gap in natural gas consumption in the ceramic industry. If the entire industry switches from coal to gas, the country will have energy security risks. It is recommended to continue to deepen the research and development of clean coal gas technology to cope with the problems that may be caused by insufficient natural gas supply.
